1. What this site is
SexualAbuseCenter.com publishes general legal information about sexual abuse litigation and related survivor resources. It is attorney advertising, operated in association with The Schroeder Firm. It does not provide legal advice, and using it does not create an attorney–client relationship. Those points are set out in full in our disclaimer, which forms part of these terms.
2. Acceptable use
You may read, print, and share this content for personal, non-commercial purposes, and link to it freely. You may not:
- Scrape, harvest, or systematically copy the site’s content for republication.
- Republish substantial portions as your own content, with or without attribution.
- Use the site or its forms to send unlawful, threatening, harassing, or deliberately false material.
- Submit another person’s personal information without their knowledge, except where you are lawfully acting on their behalf.
- Attempt to gain unauthorized access to any part of the site or its systems, or interfere with its operation.
- Use automated systems to submit forms.
3. Submissions
Information you submit through a form is handled as described in our privacy policy. You are responsible for the accuracy of what you send. Do not send confidential or sensitive material before a written representation agreement is in place. See the disclaimer for why this matters.
We are not obliged to respond to every submission and may decline any matter for any lawful reason. Declining a matter is not a judgment about the truth of what you have described.
4. Intellectual property
The text, design, layout, graphics, and code of this site are owned by the site operator or used under license, and are protected by copyright and other laws. The name, logo, and branding are the operator’s marks. Statutory text, court filings, and government publications quoted or cited here remain in the public domain or belong to their respective sources.
Brief quotation with attribution and a link is fine. If you want to reproduce more than that, email leads@sexualabusecenter.com and ask. We usually say yes.
5. Third-party links
We link to hotlines, government agencies, court records, support organizations, and related professional resources. We do not control those sites, are not responsible for their content or practices, and a link is not an endorsement of everything on the other end of it. Their terms and privacy policies govern your use of them.
6. Accuracy and changes
Litigation moves constantly and statutes change. We make reasonable efforts to keep this site accurate and current, and every figure carries the date it was accurate as of, but we do not warrant that any page reflects the position at the moment you read it. We may change, add, or remove content at any time without notice. Confirm anything you intend to rely on.
7. No warranty; limitation of liability
This site is provided on an “as is” and “as available” basis. To the fullest extent permitted by law we disclaim all warranties, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. To the fullest extent permitted by law, neither the site operator nor The Schroeder Firm is liable for any indirect, incidental, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of this site or reliance on its content.
8. Not an emergency service
This site is not monitored around the clock and its forms are not an emergency channel. If you or someone else is in immediate danger, call 911. If you are in crisis, call or text 988. RAINN’s confidential hotline is available 24/7 at 800-656-4673.
9. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the District of Columbia, without regard to its conflict of laws rules. Nothing here limits any right you have under the consumer protection laws of your own state that cannot be waived by agreement.
